When digg gives you a swift kick, Mixx is there to put a band-aid (or free shirt) on the wound.

So, last week I got an email from Mixx, but it wasn’t the usual ‘Mixx: There’s something new in Tech News‘ (aka - Mixx Spam) that clutters my inbox. It was a more personal email.

Asking me to send them my snail-mail address, because they wanted to send me a small token of their appreciation. So, naturally, I send them my address to see what I’m gonna get. This was on monday.

Tuesday, the Great Digg Revolt happens.

Wednesday, I’m still a little shocked by what happened the nite before. ALL day long I surf around different people’s blogs reading about the short-lived & ill-conceived “revolt”.

Thursday, My perspective has changed. I decide to take a little break from digg. A short digg-detox, if you will.

Friday, That morning, a package arrives from Mixx, with a bunch of free schwag! Can we say Perfect Timing!

I don’t know if Chris McGill can see into the future and knew that the Digg Revolt was coming, and just wanted to time it out perfectly…. or maybe he was the one that secretly started the whole Digg Revolt.

I don’t know… But I got the email before the Digg Revolt, and the package directly after!

If other mixxers/diggers got their schwag package the same day I did. Then, they must’ve got the same general feeling that I got… a feeling of appreciation.

I realize that the mixx schwag ‘giveaway’ happening at the same time as the digg revolt are merely coincidental, but still, it makes you think about the many differences between the two social media sites.

I want to give a special Thanks to the Mixx Crew for my new schwag! Although I could go without it, mainly, it’s just nice to be appreciated for contributing to a community.
